California Court of Appeal, Third District (People v. O'Moore, 83 Cal. App. 2d 586). Maurice M. O'Moore, rector of a Chico church, was convicted on four counts of contributing to the delinquency of minors for lewd acts against boys aged fifteen to eighteen who, in the opinion's words, 'became members of his guild… became altar boys', one singing in the choir. The Court of Appeal affirmed the misdemeanor convictions (hearing denied by the state Supreme Court, March 1948); companion felony counts were remanded for lack of corroboration and are not asserted.
